Families Supporting Families includes free peer to peer support groups providing parents and caregivers with a safe space to connect, share stories, learn new strategies, and discover valuable resources.

Groups are facilitated and will be available for parents and caregivers raising a child or youth with:

• ADHD and other Diverseabilities
• ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and other
  Diversabilities
• Down Syndrome

When: 1st Monday of each month starting Oct. 7th, 2024

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Where: Nanaimo Child Development Centre - 1135 Nelson St.

Childminding: Pre-registration is required, email Stephanie at stephanies@nanaimocdc.com to inquire. Please keep in mind that childminding is limited and priority will be for NCDC clients.

Have you heard? There's a new online group especially for youth from adoption and permanency!

AFABC's Peer Banter Series is an opportunity for youth to come together and hang out with others who "get it." Play games, connect, and have fun in a safe and inclusive space!

This virtual group is open to anyone ages 15-19 with lived experience in adoption and permanency (whatever this means to you). It's youth-led with facilitation from our awesome Family Support Specialist, Sam Johnson.

Peer Banter takes place every second Wednesday of the month at 5:00 pm. The next session is on November 9th. Click here for more information and to register.
