The NCDC was founded in 1967, and today, offers a wide range of services to over 1900 children and their families annually.

What an unforgettable day! On behalf of the Nanaimo Child Development Centre, thank you to our incredible sponsors, racing teams, entertainers, exhibitors, spectators, donors, and the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who made our 40th Silly Boat Regatta one of our best events yet.

Your enthusiasm, generosity, and community spirit continue to make this iconic Nanaimo tradition possible while helping raise vital funds to support children, youth, and families throughout our community. Our total raised is $137,000

As we celebrated 40 amazing years in Maffeo Sutton Park, we’re already looking ahead with excitement. Here’s to the next 40 years of the Nanaimo Silly Boat Regatta—bringing our community together, creating lasting memories, and making a difference in the lives of local children, youth and families.
